At the Beach

I’m in San Diego, and it’s really lovely. It’s so nice to escape the snow of Colorado for just a few days. What do you do the minute you get to a new place? Take a long walk or jog? Maybe a nap or a meal? Maybe you run outside and start into a long Vinyassa as the sun sets over the beach?

About the photo: This is a self portrait I set up yesterday evening. The camera was on a tripod, and after trying to take a series of shots using the remote control, I managed to glue the shutter release down with wet sand (accidentally). So, while the camera was taking shot after shot, I pointed it towards the sun and La Jolla, and then ran out in front and did my best of various silly yoga poses. It was actually a lot more fun than I expected!

That’s awesome. Did you time it perfect to wipe your footprints away? You look fantastic!

Thanks, Mark! The beach out there is pretty hard, so there wasn’t much in the way of footprints in the sand, at all. The thin coating of water was enough to cover them up.
