About

Welcome to WanderLore, and the photography of Kate Calder!

After living in six different towns before graduating from high school, I found a deep love for travel, adventures, and exploring new places. My life has taken me from the ancient urban corridors of Rome to the windswept peaks of the Rocky Mountains, and everywhere in between. Along the way, I am almost always found behind the lens of a camera, trying to capture the adventure and drama of the moment.

I am an experienced rock climber, and I love long, multi-pitch traditional climbs. I can often be found with my husband, Mark, exploring the granite faces of Lumpy Ridge or Vedauwoo.

I have a weird love of all things science and technology-related. I have a BS in Computer Science, an MS in Atmospheric Science, and I am currently working on my PhD at Colorado State University.

I find photography to be a beautiful way to combine all of my passions in life: my love of adventure and the outdoors, my fascination with the science of light and the atmosphere, as well as my obsession with technology and gear. My art and vision is formed from the intersection of these many different perspectives.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope everybody finds something here that lifts a piece of their soul.
